Usually here in a week - 10 days.bugs wrote:I have some authority to buy some Hunting stuff as an early Christmas gift but it must be purchased online or by phone in Canada Funds. Plus I want the stuff by the 1st!!! What places can I order from? I was looking at coats at Cabelas Canada and every one I picked is on backorder. Currency exchange and tax are two entirely separate matters. The Canadian Dollar is currently valued less than the US Dollar. That's a fact of life. The value fluctuates from time to time.
If the items you import are by mail and are in total valued less than $20.00, you aren't going to be charged GST or PST. On such a small transaction they don't bother with the paperwork. If the total Declared Value is over $20.00, you will be charged both GST and PST. Period.
In general, if you import using a courier service instead of through the mail, they will IN ADDITION to GST and PST charge you a brokerage fee. Be carefull, the brokerage fees can be VERY expensive.

Gander Mountain accept phone orders from Canadians in US dollars. They can be picked up at your closes store in the US, with NO shipping cost. 90% of the time there are no taxes to pay coming into Canada if customs is in a good mood. You do pay the state tax however, in my case it is maybe 8% in Michigan (not sure). They have small stores all over to ship to, they call you when it arrives, you go pick it up. Of course a passport is generally required to enter the US.

I have never ordered anything over the net from Archers Nook but have dealt with them plenty of times, that is where I bought my Exomax. They are great to deal with and very helpful.I also have dealt with Lebarons with good results,if you order from Lebarons the stock comes out of Montreal so you only pay one tax-and the shipping charge is easy to take.In my opion either place is worth shopping at as long as they have what you are looking for

You can order from the Toronto Bass Pro by phone, direct. 905 761-4000. I work at the store and take phone orders all the time.bugs wrote:Bass Pro wont let you order from their Canadian site.
Pick what you want from the on-line site, get the catalog numbers and call the store to get the Canadian price and availability.
Be patient
Someone will have to check all the numbers and inventory and call you back.
If you have any questions, PM me and I'll try to help you out.
