Feeding Molasses

Post by bigbuck »

I feed the deer corn apples and hay all year round. I bought a pail of molasses.
I am wondering how much I should add to the corn?

I had good results with buying corn with molasses already added, but when I bought whole corn and added my own feeding molasses they wouldnt touch it. Never could figure out why???

Molasses goes on biscuits and bread.

And you don't feed deer ... you feed on deer! :D :D

Didn't your mamas teach you anything?

We've used molasses on corn for deer feed for probably 20 years...especially in the cold winter months. Probably 1/4 gal per 100 lbs of corn. If it gets too slow, you know like molasses, put some water in the jug after you've used some. Deer in the U.P love the stuff.

We used to make our own Mixture using Corn Starch mixed in to helped it from forming giant Corn balls. But the State shut us down from any type of feeding.
The Deer loved it, but so did the Squirls!
