Its no whitetail, but its good none the less. This Bear Grylls guy has balls! He set a leg trap with string and tied the antlers to a tree.

I got my arms around the neck of an escaped penned doe, it was a small deer. Once I got a hold of it it ran like I wasn't even there, I got beat up pretty bad on the journey, never did succeed with bringing it home.
I got a noose around a late drop doe fawn, she was undernurished, still fought but I got that one. I brought her to my home in an attempt to bring her up to speed, she perished 2 days later.
250lb buck, no way, no how is anyone capable of doing that.
This year I can't get close enough to shoot one, let alone grab it. If the circumstances were right (legalities) I would try though.

It is possible. Wouldn't be easy though, as they do have incredible strength. But if a 250lb buck ran out in front of "Jim" from the old Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, that deer would be going down. That man was bad. I saw him leap from a jeep and grab a zebra and hold it by the tail. He castnetted a cougar once. He jumped out of a boat in the everglades, grabbed an alligator and lifted it into the boat. Sankes, it didn't matter what it was.

I always admired him, and think he might have been an indian. Anyways, he was very strong and fearless, and that is what it would take to beat your buck deer.

I vote yes, it can be done.

Th man vs wild guy really pisses me off. He is supposed to show others how to survive on their own in various climates. In this reindeer episode he uses his camera man to help him push the deer into the trap. After he kills the deer he loses it in a very stupid attempt to cross a waterfall with a homemade sled. I wonder if the locals that let him kill the deer knew it all went to waste except one hind quarter. I wouldn't wrestle a deer and I won't be watching man vs wild anymore either. Les Stroud is our Canadian version and has taught me many more survival tips. He also does it all alone and I doubt he would risk wasting an entire reindeer just to drink its blood on film and risk losing almost an entire animal.

well i guess im the only one who likes the show Its like anything else, made for ratings and entertainment but there are things to be learned. I never seen the other show. Probably would like it too.

I think we should find us a deer, (theres none in my area) and have a go at it. I volunteer first. anyone else??
