O/T Added flames to my Jeep

Post by Doe Master »

I know it ain`t hunting related but I did have my hunting gear in the back .
I had a small mishap on Monday night driving home . I started to smell burning plastic so I pulled over , turned the truck off . In the dark I could see flames dancing behind the dash  so because I was literally just seconds from work I raced to my work . By the time I got in the side door and grabbed the extinguisher the flames were up to the headliner .
I put out the flames but the truck is done .
On a positive note I was able to save all my hunting gear . :)

I`m not going to get all sappy and religious but if I had been another 200 yards down the road . It would have turned out alot worse .

Just be thankful you made it out OK, and got your hunting gear out, too!
I had a hot time last week. Was working under a mobile home with a small catalytic heater near a frozen water line and the insulation (full of dirt & spider webs) ignited. It was like nothing I ever experienced before - WHOOSH - the whole underneath was burning! I got out with only a couple minor burns on my hands, and the occupant got out safely, but the trailer was a total loss. Thank goodness I have good insurance!

Glad you, your hunting gear and your ski stuff were spared! Now you'll have a chance to pursue your dream of a larger vehicle with a bigger payload so you can haul even more stuff, I mean, even bigger deer!

Glad you got out safely.

You'll do fine in the end. You may even rejoice, if you've retained a good company.

My wife is a Farm Bureau insurance agent. :D 8)

I once narrowly escaped when a 1970 Ford LTD caught on fire while I was driving. I got out and ran just in time to look back and see fire roll into the whole occupant area and totally engulf everything.

A close one! :D
