Shot my Phoenix today...

Post by AndreTTOW »

Shot my Phœnix today and boy was I a happy camper.

I put it together just last week and went to the camp today for a few practice shots.

Here are a couple pics of my groupings...I was quite impressed with the accuracy, considering I was standing without anything to lean on.

Plus it was a bit windy to say the least. Can't wait to get a better setup and sight this baby properly...

Well I just had to share... :D

Nice Shooting! You'll learn not to shoot groups with your Excalibur as it becomes costly buying new arrows

X2 -
Also be careful if you do just nick one of the arrows already in the target. A rough spot on the nock can be tough on string serving.
I use a target with several small aiming points to save arrow wear & tear.

Nice group shooting without a rest!!
Shouldn't have any trouble getting a deer or other animal with that kind of accuracy!!
Now that you know it's shooting tight I too would shoot each arrow at a different spot on the target....just in case.

Spots, Spots, Spots, Only Small Spots. get a can of spray paint , small circle, for one arrow only. You are shooting the most accurate crossbow in the world. Unless you like spending money for arrows.

Hey guys, thanks for the advice. I was thinking the same thing...didn't exactly want to go and buy more firebolts for the moment (I've spent enough in the last week or so...)

Will be getting a better target soon and will definately be shooting DIFFERENT spots.

I had shot my cousins crossbow the week before, and had not grouped like this at all...so this took me a bit by surprise. :-) I'm just glad nothing bad happened to my bolts. :?

A carbon arrow that has had an arrow shot into it ends up looking like a too long hard bristled paint brush.

I agree with all the above posts. Andre might be buying new arrows at this rate of accuracy.
Nice group! if I may say so.

I'm happy with my Vortex... but if I was to do it over, I think the Phoenix would be my choice. Plenty of power for deer and easier for lots of target shooting.

Good luck with it 8)
