Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.
Incurable tinkerer.
Why hunt? Simple, it's BASIC. Why breath?!

Re: Firebolt shattered
I was at a Excalibur dealer 2 weeks ago and I said I would like to buy a spider web target when I get a xbow. He told me that the spider web target is made with a backing inside that was stopping the arrows. With this extreme stopping it was fracturing the arrows at the front. Maybe the aluminum is still a better arrow to shoot.
Re: Firebolt shattered
I've broken two FireBolts. In both cases it was from hitting something hard. I snapped one in three pieces and only the fletching was holding the pieces together. It bounced off a sapling and a rock. Another snapped when a doe fell on it. It was burried to the fletching in her neck bone.
I've found them to be some really tough arrows, but if they impact something hard they can crack. You really want to check them over good if you suspect they may have hit something. The ground is so rocky in the mountains where I hunt that almost any broadhead is toast on a close pass through. Some arrows can also be hurt by the abrupt stop on rocky/hard/frozen ground.
Glad no one was hurt.
