Hey guys....can't seem to get my new flemish string to position on the the rail(deck) between the two scored marks ....After I remove my stringing aid, the string is pressed up right against the front rinser for 2 secs. then one side pops off (string falls off the groove). Very frustrating.. Called excalibur on the phone and they suggested shortening the string aid (I did, about 2 inches) but similar result! I might have to pay Mr. Bill T a visit unless you guys can give me a hand. Also, I did a little untwisting of the string to allow it to hook on to the mag tip grooves, but may have to restart again. Any help is VERY appreciated.

Re: Stringing 101...Help!
Without seeing what you are doing or the string I'd have to say shorten the cord on the stringing aid and keep twisting the string.

X2, make sure the stringing aid has about 3 1/2" of tag ends on both sides. Then cock Bow twist up yer string til it at yer top brace line

86 the plastic sleeve on stringing aid so your rope cocker hooks fit it. Cock it and see if limbs are bent enough to get bow string on. If not watch vid on uncocking w/ rope cocker and use it to uncpock str aid. Take up some more slack in it and try again. Try to put enough twists in FFF so the serving sits 3/8" above high line. shoot it some or let it set overnight cocked, won't hurt limb none and will stretch a bunch out of string. Shoot it til it settles low btween the lines, then do the 1st proceedure a second time. Now you should settle on the 1 1/8" lone, serving just touching scribed line.
Some of the older members here claim there's a sweet spot w/ serving just tpuching the inside of high line and I tend to agree. Basically anywhere btween the lines is good, but if you get too low, the serving can slap the riser to no good.
I haven't shot the FFF's in awhile but seem to recall settling them in w/ just 3 adjustments.
Must insert the newbie mantra at this point, be sure you are applying twist the rightdirection which tends to wind it tighter rather than unloosen it.
There, only took to or three days, Good news! Bad news is you wanrt to do it all over again to carry a prestretched in a baggie w/ loops tie together w/ twistie off a loaf of bread so they cant wind or unwind. The satifaction of putting string 2 on, have to go to same bheight you pulled it off at and have same poi is priceless.

Depending on what model you have, make sure you don't let your limbs down without a string on and end up bending your dissipator pad arms...

I stand corrected, wont bend the DP bars, but could possibly ruin the pads... Thank you awshucks...

Sounds like your string is too long. I don't understand how making the cocking aid shorter will fix that. Am I missing something? String has been untwisted . . .right?
I'd rather wear out than rust out.

That's the way I read it, too.sumner4991 wrote:Sounds like your string is too long. I don't understand how making the cocking aid shorter will fix that. Am I missing something? String has been untwisted . . .right?
The string sounds like it is WAY too long! If brace height drops below about 1/2" the string will pop out of the grooves. The solution is simply to twist the string (in the direction it is already twisted to add twists) to shorten it.
