Pics of a buck I saw

Post by Mr. Dynamite »

Was out for a walk the other day and saw this buck. I jumped him and his group of does, and the does saw me and took off, but he had not seen me. He ran across and down the field but was looking back, unsure of what had jumped his ladies and sent them running, so I did some doe calls and buck grunts with my mouth, and he started coming back in. And off he goes running.

Pretty cool sighting.

I also jumped another buck from his bed on "His" ridge. Ridge stank like somebody had dumped out a bucket of dominant buck urine, and he had scrapes and rubs all over, with his bed smack dab in the middle of all his sign. Had some nice tracks on him, will have to see if I can see him again.

Sounds like a great outdoor encounter to me! :)
Good luck to you on your next encounter.

Good job getting a camera on him. Good looking buck!

Yea, probably would have! Was out a few weeks ago in a no-hunting park for a walk but didn't have any rattlers with me. I jumped some deer and did some calling to them and then took a stick and started rubbing it on a tree. I thought, "Ok this is pretty stupid, but lets give it a try." I was pretty interested to see the response. A couple does came in very close to check me out, a buck further up the ridge grunted back at me, and a real nice 8 exited his thicket and started coming in, but I was just sitting on the ground without a blind so he could see me, and did not see the "aggressor buck." He never did give me a good picture, but the one doe did.
