Well I bought me a Phoenix today (my very first CB). I got the CB only with no accessories because the store did not have any with the Right Stuff packages at this time and is not getting any in until this summer. I did buy 6 Excalibur arrows, target points, cocking rope and wax that way I can start shooting while I am waiting for the store to order my other equipment that I am wanting. I am waiting for the new scopes and sting stops to come out before having the store order my Right Stuff package and the scope.
I fired the Phoenix this afternoon when I got home with it and I lost the first bolt because it went through my back stop. I setup my backstop the same as I use to when I use to shoot a compound bow and I never had a problem with arrows going through it. The arrow never slowed down until it hit the greenbrier brambles. I am glad that I have nothing but open space behind my backstop. After rearranging the hay bails I am now catching the bolts.
Thanks to everyone in helping me make my mind up on the CB that I thought best fit my needs.

Welcome and congratulations You are better off waiting to see what the new scopes have to offer the more choices the better in my mind.I received my first crossbow at this time a year ago and have been hooked ever since. You will have all winter and summer to get comfortable with the bow and figure out what works for you a good time to buy.

Re: New Owner of a Phoenix
Thanks for the generous welcomes. I have been reading as many post as I can and I really value all the comments. I am on this forum along with couple other forums with this being the friendliest of them and it seems to have some very knowledgeable users that are willing to help anyone asking. Really look forward to using the CB this upcoming hunting season. Its been 13 years since I have been hunting and 18 since I have been able to use a compound bow, all due to health issues. I really got the hunting bug hard this year and I made a decision that next year I will be out in the field.
Thanks,
Leo

Re: New Owner of a Phoenix
Welcome Leo! You are really gonna love that xbow. If your funds permit you can order all the accessories in the world for your Pheonix form online. Including the right stuff package. That is what I had to do because no Excal. dealers in my area. Also congratulations on getting into or back into hunting. Don't let anything stop you from getting in the woods next season with your bow! You have all the off season to be excited about it and get ready as well! Welcome and good luck to you.

Welcome mate!
I learnt pretty quick that hay bales are not good at all from stopping arrows from a CB. Ended up putting mine out as bait for the trail cam as all they do is make a massive mess and loose arrows, which cost money. Ended up putting a big sheet of wood behind the target. Works ALOT better, havent lost an arrow since and its alot easier to move around the yard.
Have fun
