David, did you shoot your barn??
5 minute epoxy will work wonders to hold the velcro to the plastci. Like you say, sand it a bit first though.

you might try some industrial strength velcro, that stuff has some sticky glue on it....no need for hot melt, cold fall off glue ........bob

Re: cell phone mounted on a bow
I found one on eBay for $1 AU, but course even though an Austrailian dollar is worth less than our Loonie, with PayPal's exhange rate premium it turned out to be more than a Buck. Then of course there was another $7.54 AU for shipping. So in the end the price worked out the same as what David stated above.

Re: cell phone mounted on a bow
That video was cool, thanks David!
I am surprised at how little the video was distorted at the time of the shot, I would have expected a bit more movement, the Lumenok sure helped too.
So if your friends tell you you can't hit the broad size of a barn, you have a video to prove them wrong.
Next, lets try mounting it to the arrow.
For the glue, a good fletching glue may be of some value. I have had great luck using Fletch-Tite on items that see sub zero temperatures.

Re: cell phone mounted on a bow
My practice target foam deer was actually in front of my barn, but like the real ones it just blends in, and I did hit it, although that's not to say my barn doesn't have a few holes in it already
I don't think that the glue on the velcro that has the glue already on it would be strong enough. I've used that stuff before on fabric and although it holds the velcro in place while you sew it on, I wouldn't trust the glue's longevity. J.B. Weld has never let me down, I'm going to try that today. Fletch-Tite seems a good idea too, thanks for the input, I'm enjoying this,
cheers,
David

Great idea, I will use the key cam with a twist. I will have to put it on my hunting dogs collar. it would be great to see a big ole rooster on the cam from the dogs veiw.

Re: cell phone mounted on a bow
Well I just tried scratching up the back of the camera and used JB KWIK to glue the Velcro to it. To my surprise it did not work, the glue stuck to neither the plastic, nor the camera back.
So I cleaned off the back of the camera with a little acetone and tried Bob's suggestion, he was right!! It seems to work great, I'm now convinced, many thanks...........
cheers,
David
P.S. shaftthrower pointed me at this, seems all I did was reinvent the wheel, check out

It's the type of Velcro with adhesive over the entire surface, not just thin strips of adhesive. I thought I knew Velcro, I used a lot when I made costumes for strippers, but that was over 35 years ago and I digress...................bob1961 wrote:the industrial self adhesive velcro i'm talking bout holds like the dickings and is hard to pull off....i used it on my R/C rock crawler in the winter to hold my battery in place and it did not come loose....bought it at walmart in the sewing dept of all places, i'm telling ya it sticks ........bob

After seeing the video I couldn't resist purchasing 3 myself. $21 shipped.
I was impressed with the video quality mounted on the bow.
