Scope Questions

Post by leoalls »

Do both Varizone and Lumizone scopes have a fixed power setting? I thought I had seen somewhere that the Varizone was a 2-4X power but I can't seem to find anything else on it. Also anyone using the Twilight or Shadow Zone and have any comments?

Thanks,
Leo

They are both variable power. The 'speed ring' in either is nothing more than the mechanism that changes the power of the scope, thus the distance between the aim point on the reticule, to more closely match the trajectory of your arrow. The Varizone is slightly smaller primarily the objective bell. the Lumizone has a on-demand lighted reticule.

All the data I've read claims they are 2.5X4x. Even though they are 'variables', you let your arrow trajectory determine the setting. Variable in the rifle world means choice between something like 3x to 9x. Not the case w/ these jewels.

Sight crosshairs at 20, go to 40, use 2nd triangle down, spin ring until elevation is on, fuggetaboutit, [after checking 30]

Upon first reading Awshuck's post, I was going to dispute his claims. However, upon further analysis, I understand and agree with what he has stated. Just in case it's "fuzzy" to some, let me put it in "other words".

Yes the scopes are variable, they can be set anywhere between 2.5 & 4 power. However, by changing the magnification you also change the POI of your arrows when using any of the triangles. The POI only will remain unchanged if you only use the crosshairs. When using the other markers/triangles, if you wish to increase or decrease your magnification, you must increase or decrease your arrow speed accordingly. If you lower the arrow speed, you must lower the magnification to match.
