Sheds: Saved the best for last!

Post by Mr. Dynamite »

.

I know everybody has moved on to turkey hunting, but I am still troubled by the thought that there are nice antlers lying on the forest floor yet to be found. This concern forces me to still wander the woodland in search of elusive bone that brings back memories of the fall. Don't ya wish it were deer season already just by looking at the size of this antler?

Found it out in a grassy high spot in a swamp. It is from last year and was hidden pretty well.

This is all I saw when I first noticed it

Not much showing, but enough to tell it is nice

Nice and thick, double points at the end, and the beam curves into a nice blade

Found some nice flowers blooming and staged a shot

Soon it will be fall! Good luck shooting your turkeys for now though.

Good eye Dynamite! I too have the whitetail withdrawl blues. My only cure lately has been putting on several miles scouting, hanging stands, and setting up my mineral licks on my food plots. When i'm scouting i try to find sheds but its hard when your looking mostly for sign. Weather has been horible so far this spring. Rain and snow mix all day today. Can't wait till it warms up and things dry out a bit... chomping at the bit to get food plots prepared for planting. Hang in there bud, before you know it we'll be chasing 'em again. Until then I guess i'll get the Reconyx out and hunt them with it :!:

Nice find there Mr Dynamite!
I'm gonna have some fun turkey hunting but I'm really looking forward to deer season again also!
