I just received my new Axiom SMF and a bunch of accessories. I have everything but the dissipator bars and/or S5 kit. Do I need both these or is one of these enough? If one is all I need what are the pro's and cons of each?
Thank you
I just registered my Axiom SMF and can't wait to get out to shoot it!

Congrats on your axiom!!!!!
Personally i wouldn't worry with the diss. pads...some here remove them. The s5 is worth the investment though in my opinion.
Good Luck!!!

Re: Silencer & Vibration
hey congrats on your new Axiom..its a fine rig.
heres my take on the silencing stuff..
the d bars will help some ..the S5 will help some and the whiskers will help some.its just how quiet do you want it..
most of us agree that no matter what you do it will never be so quiet the deer wont hear it..
I took my d bars off and use the S5 .i felt both was too much upfront weight for me ..but that may not bother you at all. I recently started using the cat whiskers and although i lost 6-7 fps i am impressed with sound loss..
all this stuff has its gives and takes .but the S5 gives the most bang for the buck because it dampens the sound and more importantly IMHO it will help take the shock out in case of a dryfire..
hope this helps .

Welcome
I shoot an Axiom and only have string silencers .My opinion is to listen to the members here , then choose what fits your needs .
These guys & gals REALLY know what the are talking about. Have fun.

Re: Silencer & Vibration
welcome to the forum.i agree with the rest the whiskers help alot slow you down some but to me they made the biggest change the S5 helps some but i like it in case i dry fire.just play some and see what you like that's what we all do.
Re: Silencer & Vibration
Thank you very much for the many great responses. It sure looks like a no-brainer to me, I will start with the S5 and go from there. Going with the S5 first as the little wifey is going to try cross bow hunting and so might help a dry fire as she is petit.
There is no doubt in my mind that Excaliber was the right choice with all the support I have gotten on this forum. If we both enjoy crossbow hunting I wll move up to the Phoenix.
Thank you very much;
Wayne
