Giggidy Giggidy Giggidy... she's on order!

Post by Panhandler80 »

It has been years since I parted with that much money on something for MYSELF!

It felt great! Between saving for engagement ring and not having steady work, I've been living pretty lean. Career more or less back on path as of this past January. Stroked a check for the ring back in early July. Now I'm about to be a member of the Excal family. I think the last thing I bought for myself (other than some beer, bullets, gas in the boat every now and then, etc) was probably three years ago... a couple of light tackle nearshore rods.

Anyway, I just placed an order for the following:

Excalibur Axiom kit
S5 system
Yukon 3.5 x 42mm Digital Night Vision Monocular
Bracket for my night vision monocular to left of scope
Two 1" tri-rail scope mounts (for laser sight and IR illuminator if needed)
Sight Mark AACT5R laser site
AMS Big Game Line holder
Two breakaway alligator bolts with muzzy Gator Getter points
One breakaway alligator bolt with Innerloc Gator point

Watch out Gators, Deer, Hogs and picky Cobia!

What week you have? You going to hit up Deer Point, or salt marshes? Be careful getting too close to wildlife management areas up there into Econfna.

My buddy drew Week 1 Gulf and I drew Week 2 Gulf County.

If you need any help, give me a shout! I'm right here in PC, and I've got all the gear.

Roger that. I never came across to many super cobia on the Maury R there in Rockbridge Co, but I did see some mighty fine deer!

Week 3 Bay County, probably bear creek, alot of gators around there. What I really want to draw is the sambar deer permit on ST. Vincent Island, things are like elk in Florida, maybe next June when special opportunity lottery comes back around.

I gotcha. Well good luck.

I almost put in for here, but I just like all the water of in Gulf County. Drew week 3 last year, but didn't have a chance to go until almost the very end of October...

Saw some gators as sun went down, couldn't get close, too much grass and debris for snatchooks, then it got COLD... like 45, they went down and then the lake steamed up BIG TIME. We honestly couldn't see more than about 15 feet ahead of the boat.

Got back into creek to go to ramp using GPS and we'd honestly bump into the bank at times the steam was so thick. Not much fun. Hope to have a different experience August 19th this year!

Appreciate it. Was probably money I should have hung on to due to lots of uncertainty about some things, but I've wanted one for a few years now. I have also been without a hunting lease for two years. I told her that once we got the ring I was going to get a lease.

Opted for the crossbow instead of the lease. About the same price, but I'll have the crossbow forever!

I know where you're coming from but you gotta treat yourself once in awhile so it seems like all the time spent on the hamster wheel is worth something.
