Hey j.krug,
Nice stand you have made. I hope you intend on using a safety harness. Do you have a safety harness? If you do not have a safety harness I have one that I can send to you at no cost to you. Merry Christmas.
Thanks,
Raymond

Raymond,
Thanks for the kind offer but I have a H.S.S. harness that I wear EVERY time I am in a tree stand. My feet don't leave the ground without having it on.

i was thinking the same too....what about the wood getting slippery in with snow too....otherwise wow looks great ...[
very nice . i would add some extended pieces tht grip the tree at the seat and the foot platform . about 6 inches long fourming a V that would sit against the tree trunk .are you ging to us chain or straps to hold it in place DUTCH
Great looking stand!
I am not confident enough in my welding to make a stand yet.
An inexpensive fix to the wet boards would be to nail a couple shingles to the wood.

looks good to me but I,m past lock-on type and I have used them for years..my favorite now has to be a ladder type with shootin rail for security or much prefer ground blind..seems the older I get my balance is not what it use to be

Hey J Krug sounds like everybody, has your safty at the ultimate concern!! listen well my friend,,you are the one in your stand!!!!! I had a homade stand blow apart under me 18yrs. ago and after 2 surgeries & 2steel plates in my neck (to hold my head up straight) caution & saftey is #1 in all you do when in a tree stand!! But i feel you already know that;; be safe :) :)
