Set up top intersection 20, cross hair 30, bottom intersection 40 - what magnification are you using to get that alignment at around 300 FPS. I got a Vortex Xbow that I love, but not a fan of the shadowzone scope that came with it. Curious as to how the magnification compares - don't want it to high for shots w/40 yards.
Thanks,
Jack

Re: For those of you using Leupold Shotgun Scopes...
Have one on my Phoenix shooting 375 gr arrows with a Boo string - guessing at around 290 fps.
I sight the crosshair for 25 yards, and set just under 2.5X I'm dead on at 15 - 25 - 35.
By sighting at 25 yards I can use the crosshair for a "center of the lungs" hold and hit well inside the "kill zone" out to 30 yards.
This has allowed me to shoot a couple deer that were walking slowly without having to know the exact yardage, as I knew they were inside 30yards.
In one case I knew a doe was inside 30 and getting closer, and when I finally got a good shot angle I simply made the old "baaaaaaaaa" sound. She stopped and I pulled the trigger. In that case the deer was actually at 7 yards when I shot, and recovery was about 40 yards (I watched her go down).
In another case the doe was at exactly 17 yards and stationary (at my feeder munching corn) so I used the top "post" for exact shot placement since I knew the exact yardage and had plenty of time and a good rest on the shooting rail. Recovery was 30 yards on that shot.
A buck that was inside 30, but I didn't know the exact distance and I used the crosshair and the "center of the lungs" hold. Actual distance turned out to be 21 yards and he went 35 yards after the shot.
Never had a need to test the 35 yard "post" on a deer yet.
It's worked 100% effectively for me so far, and I'm sticking with it!
