My path to Excalibur

Post by vaXbow »

After I geeked my shoulder up this year I decided to switch to crossbows. I did my research and narrowed my choices down to a couple, with Excalibur one of them. After calling my dealer and discussing the options, I ended up buying a Strykezone 350. It took me no time to sight it in and it shot like a charm.

And then it happened. I went out last Sunday to shoot because bow season starts this Satrurday. You guessed it, the limbs splintered. I had this bow less than two months and 6 days before season it crapped the bed.

My dealer game 3 options with the 3rd option a credit if I wanted to purchase a bow from a different company. I jumped on that option and ordered a Vortex.

It arrived around 3:30 today. By 6:30 I had it put together and sighted in with field points. Tomorrow I will shoot a couple of Slick Tricks down range to see it it likes those. I am cutting it close considering Saturday is the day.

I have enjoyed this web sight and this forum every night this week. I've learned a lot and watch every video on here. I knew better than to buy the bow on the market but the buttons and whistles got me. At the end of the day the limbs really got me.

My Vortex was thumping them hard tonight. I am look forward to sharing a sharp broadhead from my new crossbow with the deer herd this weekend.

Now you have separated the wheat from the chafe, it took me a bad episode too. Sighting in with your broad-heads will be quick and easy.
