Post by papa bear1 »

Is it just me or does everybody w/big feet have the same problem??? When i have my hunting boot's on i have a hard time getting my foot in the cocking stirrup. I wear size 12 to 13 boots!! I mean iv'e seen smaller dog houses  I would almost bet i could walk on water 8) 8) I have a terrible time getting my foot in the stirrup then getting it out  Is it possible that they make a larger stirrup ? Or maybe somebody know's of a solution  Any suggestion's would be greatly appreceiated :?

Dave :)

Papa, what model crossbow do you have? The older ones had smaller stirrups.

Dave, you make it hard to crack a joke when you say them all yourself

I have heard of someone putting a rope in place of the stirrup before.

That's what Vladimir Putin does.
It looks like they have a rope going UP through the holes in the riser & a knot to hold it. (I'd use a figure 8 if I were trying it.)

Thanks all, I'm considering a crank;;;;;; But i realy don't want to!! But this morning @ 5:30 am. i was at my ladder stand which is on a slight hillside and while trying to get my foot in the stirrup :x i lost my balance and if you can imagine a 70 yr. man hopping around trying to get his balance with a crossbow hung up on his foot then you got the picture... Probably would have won 100,000 dollars on america's funniest home video's  Oh boy why do i do this to myself :?: I guess i love once i get in the stand ..... And watch the sun come up through the tree's & the wood's come to life :D :D

Dasve :)

I believe I've read where Dan Miller has installed the TenPoint crank that's built into the stock for some Excalibur owners.
Maybe someone can tell us if I'm right.

It might be a good option.
