I use a scope, but if my eyes were younger the factory sights would work fine. The only problem with a red dot sight is the batteries can fail.

How is that sight working for you? It looks nice on the bow.

I keep thinking of doing the same, going back to factory sights. At one time I could traget shoot out to 50 yards. But with the need to tinker I tried a scope and played with that. But now I have the itch to tinker...........

I use a scope to make up for bad eyes.
I have used a red dot works good early morning or late evening. It is hard to see the red dot during the rest of the day (sunlight)
Wabi talked about batterys, make sure to shut them OFF.

Using open sights depends totally on your vision. I'm losing mine...thank God for scopes! Gary

Have only shot it a couple of times but it is holding zero very well.I only just put it on in Oct after filling my tag.Crossbow225lb wrote:How is that sight working for you? It looks nice on the bow.

It gathers light in low light condition, I can see the pins right at legal shooting time( that was a clear sky no clouds)
It is bulky but not that heavy

It's a scope all the way for me. I have good eyes, but prefer the magnification of a scope, the fine adjustment, and sight advantage the scope gives in very low light.
Re: open sights, red dots or scopes ?
Nothing wrong with open sights if your eyes will do it for you. Mine will not so I shoot with a scope.

Scope. I've gotten used to shooting with scopes on the majority of my rifles and my turkey gun, so I just remain consistent.
