I have no idea what this bear weighed. This bear was not taken by me. these pics were forwarded to me by a friend. the pics were taken 2 a bear check station in Sussex Co. (Franklin, I believe off rt. 23).
It was also posted that the 2 largest bear checked in so far as of 12/09/2011 w
ere 776# and 829#! One from Jefferson and one from on or near Stokes.

Georgiaboy,That is not a broadhead hole. Only shotgun w/slugs or muzzleloaders are allowed to harvest bear in N.J.

WOW!! That's either a very small truck....or a very large bear!! I'd love to know the weight of that big boy??

I think it's a little of both! The bear is freaking huge and that looks to be a Ford Ranger pickup.

All I know is that both of the bear I shot this year added to the one from last year and they would still come up short. Those things are the size of a VW.

There are some monsters walking around in NJ. I had one that was over 600 Lbs on my front lawn twice a week all fall. He would lay on my lawn and eat the acorns about 10 yards from my front door. I just wish NJ would let you hunt them wit a bow or xbow. Right now its only shotgun.

They said only 464 bear taken all week about 100 less than last year. Most were taken on the 1st day,but we had a couple days of bad weather.I think they wanted to take out 500 so they weren't far from their target. Largest bear was taken friday 829lbs
