I own a Vortex and shoot Gold Tip III. It shoot well with 100gr heads until tried to shoot fixed blades and BAM, those babies flew all over the place. Yes, they were Slick Tricks. The arrows do have brass inserts and I believe I am around the 480gr total weight mark.
Fast forward to now. I purchased some 150gr field points in the thinking I would use the Excalibur heads. I resighted in the bow but noticed a pretty good speed reduction and arrow drop. But very even flight and buried deep in a target.
I think I know the answer but will put it out there anyway. Is anyone else shooting this combo? And does it calm down those down range groups? It is heavy enough to put a whoopin' on something. Thanks!

Re: Broadhead Question
I was having trouble getting my Muzzy 125 Fixed 3 blade to fly good with the factory vanes on the Firebolts.I checked everything. Finally I refletched my arrows with 2" Bohning Blazer vanes & they now hit the same hole as my Field pts. I installed the Bohnings with an offset & a helical twist. They shoot so good I was able to shoot a deer thru the heart with them. I would highly recommend trying the 2" Bohning Blazers before giving up on your fixed blades.

Re: Broadhead Question
You will need to add some offset or helical to your vanes. I'd vote on the refletching idea. The shorter your vanes, the more twist you need.
Slowing your arrow down to compensate for an accuracy issue is putting a bandade on a broken arm. You should be accurate as fast as your bow can shoot if the arrow/broadhead/tiller is right.

Re: Broadhead Question
Slicktrick standard & mag have balance rings/blade retainer. They sometimes need to be spun abit to get the wobble/runout taken out of yer arrow
