Check the limbs for splinters. Run a cotton ball along it and check for snags. Excalibur limbs are cover under warranty but its something that would have to be dealt with. Other than that there is not much else to go wrong.

Btw, was in a bit of a rush to get to town when I answered your post previously, welcome!

You can't go wrong w/ a used Excal, prices generally reflect that.

Will excal replace a rail if it has a scratch on it that is so noticeable you can feel it with your finger as u rub up and down the rail? If not...any idea how much a rail would cost?

welcome and i m in agreement with whats already been said here..i wonder how bad the scratch is do or can you get a pic or two to show us?.i think unless its got sharp burs on it it wont hurt anything..but it should give you some bargaining room on the price

If'en yer rail came with deep scratch from Dealer i spect they may try to please you in warranty. If'en its a used model you bought from individual, it would have to really impead the the string as it was fired, as in causing cuts or fraying in 40 or 50 shots!

About 20-25 shots is all the string will take....it was not a factory blemish . Used bow ,couple years old. How many $ ya recon a new rail would run me? Its a vortex.

If it's that bad, I wonder if you could sand it down a little and put a little autobody fiberglass in it and then sand it smooth?
