Shadow-Zone Scope
After a lot of searching I didn't see a lot of reviews or opinions on the Shadow-Zone scope and wondered how many of you have one and how you like it.
Georgiaboy has one and likes it (thanks) but would like to hear more opinions.
Wyvern has a new Hawke scope. An illuminated 1.5-5 that looks good but at a higher cost. Not many reviews on it either.
I'm trying to decide between the two. All opinions on the Shadow-Zone are appreciated.

Re: Shadow-Zone Scope
I put one on my Vortex last fall before deer season started. I'm very pleased with it. It seems a bit brighter than the Varizone and the lit reticles are awesome in low light conditions. I have roughly 1000 shots on it an it has held up flawlessly. I would reccomend this scope to anyone who is interested in buying one.

I appreciate the review. Sounds like a tough little scope. Is there much of a weight and size difference compared to the Vari-Zone?j.krug wrote:I put one on my Vortex last fall before deer season started. I'm very pleased with it. Re: Shadow-Zone Scope
Ask me the same question next year, I have only tried mine about 30 times, but it seems like a decent scope, nothing like any of my rifle scopes but these are not expensive scopes to start with.

If I was any better they would have to beat me sensless with an ugly stick
Re: Shadow-Zone Scope
Called Dave at Wyvern Creations today and talked about scopes. He seemed pretty excited about Hawke's new 1.5-5 X 32 SR crossbow scope. Even though it's new, all the ones he has sold, everyone likes them.
It has a $25 rebate and offered to work with me on something else if I don't like it. So I ordered one.

Re: Shadow-Zone Scope
Will do.
I hope to get it this week and have it dialed in by this weekend's opening turkey season.

Re: Shadow-Zone Scope
I honestly didn't pay that much attention to the size and weight difference and I don't have the Varizone anymore so I can't compare the two for you.houser52 wrote:I appreciate the review. Re: Shadow-Zone Scope
i have it on my vortex, very nice scope for the money! it seems to be very clear and not hazy in the sun like cheap scopes often are and it lasts into the dusk a good ways(well past legal hunting time) the illuminated crosshair/triangle is sweet. zero in at twenty then shoot at 50yrds should be right there if not ajust the speed dial, can't remember but i think faster lowers it, mine was only two inches high i like mine a lot. hope that helps some.
better an overkill than an underkill

Re: Shadow-Zone Scope
I just put a shadow zone on my new Ibex and so good so far, I've only been practise and sighting shooting so far. Thats a good tip about adjusting the speed dial, I've just got minbe set roughly around where the charts say the fps is for firebolt arrows and the excell string and 150 grain field tip, 282 fps for the Ibex.
