Hawke 1.5-5 X 32 Scope (100 yd. Reticle pic added)

Post by houser52 »

I received my new scope and rings from Wyvern Creations in record breaking time. Thanks again for all the help.

I took my time installing the rings and mounting it to the Vortex and all went well. Sighting in was straight forward with only a few clicks of adjustment and only a few shots needed to get me in the bull at 20 yards.

After moving the target out to a lasered 50 yards the little Hawke was easily set using the speed ring. Using sand bags I checked the impact at yardages from 10 - 60 and all were right on the money using the scope's ranging marks on the reticle. The glass is also nice and clear.

In the daytime the reticle illumination is not real bright even on the highest setting. I haven't checked it in low light yet so I can't make a comment.

So far my first impressions are really good for this new scope. Give Wyvern Creations a call if you're in the market for a new scope.

The reticle has aiming points out to 100 yards.

It is a tough looking scope.
Did I read right, they have a 60 yard chevron as well?

Yep you heard right. It actually has aiming points out to 100 yards. I've only tried it out to 60 though. If I can get a picture of the reticle illustration I'll post it.

Those are pretty exciting numbers, I will give one a try. The spacing for everything over 60 looks a bit off though.
Thanks for the detailed pictures.

I have a XB30 but this seems to have everything the XB has exccept the weight whick is XB's problem. Am I missing something?? AND its a 100.00 cheaper! OPPS! the XB30 has a larger tube which gives to more light gathering.

I bought a couple a couple of weeks ago so you can see it at Boostock. It's a nice scope but I wouldn't give it up for my 1.75X6 VXIII for hunting. I have a XB30 I find the 1.5X5 a better scope for reasons Aging mentions as well as the 1.5X5 having an easier to see reticle in low light. I don't care for the illuminated scopes so for less than $100.00 I got a pretty nice scope.

Not sure I haven't looked at those scopes I like the Twilight and the xb 30 I used to use a Tasco and a Buslnell but they are not a true xbow scope
