OT - Fish pictures?
How about some fish pictures guys. I know you guys up there are tearing up the pickeral, musky, trout, and other stuff we never get to see except on Outdoor Channel.
Here's two pictures from a trip a couple of weeks ago. My son's first grouper and Al with a nice red snapper we had to through back because of closed season.

nice fish ! looks like that put a smile on his face. Nothing better than watching kids catching big fish like that!!!
Re: OT - Fish pictures?
I think it put a bigger smile on my face. He thinks you're always supposed to catch big fish now.

Here's a pic of an Algonquin park lake trout caught last august. We generally catch them 40'-50' down in 60'-80' of water that time of year
He won't break any records for size but made a fine lunch at the waters edge

Nice fish!
I don't catch many big ones, but I usually manage to get a chance to catch a few small ones every day. This morning I had a job I set aside 2 hours in the morning schedule for, but it only took me 15 minutes to finish it. Oddly enough, it was only a very short distance from the local lake.
Several bluegill & crappie while I waited for the time to go to next job to arrive.

Here is a Rainbow I caught here in North Georgia not long ago on public water. A 21" kip jaw male that had some shoulders to it. Not my biggest trout to date on the fly rod but it was definitely my best fighting trout ever. And I built the 10' 4 wt rod thats in the picture.
Why ride when you can walk!
Re: OT - Fish pictures?
Very nice trout pictures. I've never caught a wild trout or had the pleasure of eating fresh trout fillets fried over a fire. Looks good.
Sounds like one of those "good for the soul" things. I try to do something with my 8-yr-old most days like feed the fish in the pond or just go for a short ATV ride.wabi wrote:I usually manage to get a chance to catch a few small ones every day.

Re: OT - Fish pictures?
It is funny I was just going to post a similar post on fishing. Myself and a friend hit the big Lake Ontario for some shallow water trolling for some Brown trout yesterday . We ended up with 2 one was 12.76 pounds and the other was 7.27 pounds. He eats them and they are already steaked up and in the freezer.

Re: OT - Fish pictures?
Great pictures! I'd trade some grouper/snapper fillets for some fresh trout or walleye/pickeral fillets. Kind of a long way to drive though and I'm sure you could buy it for what it would cost to have it shiped.

Ah, fish braggin'!!! Love it since there's no huntin.
Caught and released this one last winter through the ice.
Found some TRUE Quebec red trout, which are landlocked arctic char.
Came across some really pretty brook trout last week.

Got in to some Pike this winter up north.
While we were catching them, the wife was cleaning and cooking them right beside us.
