I ordered and received a couple of 1/4# spools of brownells fast flight plus. I have made several flemish strings for my Ibex out of B-50 dacron and use 32 strands. I'm wondering how many strands to use with the Fast Flight Plus material? Surely 32 will work, but I'm wondering if I can safely use any less than that, to keep the weight of the string as low as possible. Will be only for my 175lb Ibex.
Thanks

As with most archery equipment it's not about matching the string to the bow. With a recurve crossbow more stands will greatly reduce creep and noise/shock. A thicker string will bring the center of the arrow closer to the center of the string. The difference between a 28 strand string and a 40 strand string is only a few ft/sec.
