100gr. or 150 gr.

what weight head do most peope use 100 or 150? Trying to figure out what to start out with on a new equinox. Don't yet know what I broadhead to use but would like to start out with the weight that is mostly considered the way to go.

i use 150 boltcutters, and 125 rage 2, they fly great for me.
355 matrix, big johns arrows- zombieslayers, g5 montecs, strikers. Vortex big johns arrows- zombieslayers g5 montecs 125. Lumenoks.

Many on here try to get a high (15 - 20%) FOC on their arrows. I have found arrows like this to shoot better for me. You can achieve that with a heavier BH like a 150gr, or a brass BH insert and a 100 gr BH. My thought is you have more BH choices if you stay with 100 gr and get your FOC with an insert.

Try 150 gr Excalibur Bolt cutters and 150 grain field points.

my equinox shoots best with gold-tip bolts with 100 gr. brass inserts and 100 gr. BH.

What is the weight of the brass inserts?

110 grs............All the Firebolts are the same weight, btw.

I have a bunch of GT LII's, so haven't messed w/ Firebolts, but if I did, 1st bhead I'd try would be the Boltcutter.........

I use 125gr with my Exomax.
This way I have a better FOC than a 100gr, and faster than a 150gr.
