re stringing my axiom smf

Post by buckdeer »

I un strung my axiom after hunting season and now i want to put the string back on to start practicing for deer season. I never done this before. I bought the stringing device but i do not know how many twists i should put in the string or how to measure the brace height. any help would be greatly appreceiated. thank you BUCKDEER

Cock the bow with the stringing device & install the string as per the instructions. I would start off with 4/5 twist in the string ( twisting the string in the direction the serving was wound will shorten ) then install your rope cocker on the stringing aid & release it in the same manner as uncocking your bow.
Anywhere between the two brace mark lines ( inscribed on the rail ) is ok. I don't know if the SMF rail has the lines in the rail, if not then 1"-1.25" off the junction of the riser & rail connection is good.
