Hey Folks.. I just made what I refer to as my "REDNECK STRING SERVING JIG." It may NOT be as pretty as many other ones BUT... it was made from "left-over" items laying in the garage and it was SIMPLE and EASY to make.
I had some 2x4's in the shed and I had one that was 44" long.. (I drilled some holes through the 2X4 to make it adjustable for different length strings) and used that for the base. I also had a couple 5"x1" brackets with a 90 degree bend that I re-drilled the holes where I attached two 3/8" x 7" threaded hooks for attaching the string to and then simply tightening the threads until the string is tightened.
As I stated... it may NOT be BEAUTIFUL BUT... It is working GREAT and cost very little. I would estimate IF you had to purchase the items and build it, it MIGHT be close to $20.00.
P.S. I TRIED to post a picture but my computer is ALOT smarter than me... Anyone want to post it for me. I can email attach it??
