Thats a trophy for sure. Congrats Mr. Krug.
Re: First Coyote
Thanks everyone, I'm glad you enjoyed the tale of our adventure. It was another awesome hunting experience to be sure. It's days like that that keep me going back for more outdoor hunting adventures. To be able to share the thrill of this hunt with my little brother (he's 41 but always my little brother ) just makes it that much better. Good times my friends....good times!

HAH!!!
Don't like coyotes one bit. Seen 'em chase deer down and kill pet dogs.
Thanks for taking care of that one.

Re: First Coyote
Way to go big guy ! Great story , hope you get a crack at few more . They do make nice looking European mounts .
Re: First Coyote
We used to get em for ranchers that had waste pits... was the perfect baiting since they were used to it being there year round. Just had to park down wind behind the tree line and sit in the cab. Only challenge was to see how many you can hit as they run off, have since moved to bows and crossbows for more of a sporting challange. Was good money as a kid though, the rancher would give $25 a kill and then I would sell them to the hutterites (that complained about the pelt damage from the .358, wonder why.. hahah) for another $20 each. This is 30+ years back back now and don't know how legal that cab hunting is any more so wouldn't try it.
While on the subject though, do you guys use any calls or scents when you go for them, or do you set up and maintain a baiting station? Have looked into those stereo type vermin distress callers that are supposed to work well but never really heard any positive results from the field, can't imagine that it would have a longer range than a good scent.
