8 point, wide basket, short tines... Still holding out hope for the big fella to cruise through.

GREAT picture! I have taken a couple of shots like that but none have come out nearly that good.

Woodspike you have more ambition or patience or scruples or something than I have... and what a really cool photo to show for it! I say frame that sucker and hang it next to any other trophies you have. Hope you catch up with the monster you want! Keep at it and I'm betting you will.

Hardest part was trying to match the phone's camera to the relief of the scope. Had a hell of a time holding everything steady.groundpounder wrote:GREAT picture! I have taken a couple of shots like that but none have come out nearly that good.
Thanks for all the positive responses!
Re: Had him in the crosshairs....
Good thing you don't have a Phoenix like mine. It goes on "autopilot" when one is in the crosshairs and just seems to go off on its own.Woodspike wrote:Right around 20 yards.wabi wrote:X3ninepointer wrote:Now THAT is a cool photo!

I showed some restraint of sorts today too, but it was nothing noble. Not complaining it was great but i spent a LOOOONG cold day sitting in the stand watching armies of squirrels, woodpeckers, hawks, etc and only bit of excitement was one nervous doe juuuuust out of comfort range early in the morning and 1x brazen raccoon who hung out way too long in my kill zone but lived to tell the tale. Looking forward to trying again on veteran's day.

You did good. I let his twin here in Ga. walk yesterday and again today. They don't get bigger if you kill them when they are young.
Great picture.
Great picture.
