I like the 200# ers, but I haven't shot the 225s.
I had an Emax, but found it turned a fun activity into work, lol.

I ordered a Phoenix, got it, loved it, then found out a year later it was an Exocet w/ mis-marked rail.

Oh well........

I LOVE the T hole stock and my Vortex, but just to show that I'm not prejudged, I love my Phoenix too. If I had to own just one it would be the Vortex (320 fps with 400 gr arrows and my Flemish string) but that ain't ever gonna happen! :D
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.

I shoot left handed and have no problem shooting any of the Excals. I really like the Phoenix. I prefer the traditional stock because the safety is much easier and faster to get to. Takes a little fanagling to get the safety on a thumb hole model.

Thanks for all the responses. Ordered Axiom SMF today. All the reviews were 5 star that I saw and seemed to be priced right. Also wife can use if I decide to get another crossbow. :D :D :D

I am 6 feet tall and approx 215lb, so I bought the Equinox since it was 225lb pull and the thumbhole stock. I love this crossbow and I know I made the right choice, but any Excalibur model you choose will bring you total satisfaction.

Similar height and similar situation.

I went with an Ibex with aluminum mainframe, (purchased end of August this year). Shot a few Excalibur's and this was the model that suited me best. If you can get to a store to hold a few it helps. They all hold a little different due to different Length of Pull and weight. I personally like the thumbhole stock design best; for me more control.

Bottom Line - no matter what Excalibur you decide on you will like it.

go out and shoot a couple different Excalibur's if you can and see which one fits you best.
