Hunting season over due to Snow... UPDATE!! 1/8/13

Post by birddog1520 »

I was hoping to get a little more hunting in with my axiom and maybe a couple of days with the flintlock during Pa's late season but while walking to my plow truck yesterday to keep the roads open during the snow storm I slipped on some snow covered ice and dislocated my knee cap and maybe have some internal damage to the knee itself. The first open appointment the Orthopedic Surgeon has is 2 weeks away and the season will be just about over by then.Plus I may be down for quite awhile so I get to spend some quality time on the hunting sites now.

Thanks for letting me vent some. :x

I saw the Orthopedic Surgeon today 1/8/ 13 The diagnosis is a torn quadriceps tendon surgery is tomorrow Doc does'nt want the tendon to retract any farther, he said recovery time is about 6 months. I'm gonna try to shorten that if I can with hard work cause I don't want to miss spring gobbler, but if I can't there is always next year. Oh yea and I want to get back to work faster Too!!! :D

Get well soon
you could always see if they make a 4x4 hovaround
or find a few kids that could carry you out to hunt.

Sorry to hear your season ended in such a painful way. Hope the knee isn't too badly damaged.

Would still be better than anything I've seen on the Outdoor Channel lately.

Best wishes on a speedy recovery!

Sorry to hear hope you get better. I'm in the same boat busted my knee up over a year ago and the deep snow just won't cut it. Best to rest it and wait it out. Good Luck.
