Bone stock Axiom SMF

I have a basically brand new Axiom SMF, is there anything I should consider adding to it? Does the synthetic flight rail hold up well, or should I consider changing it to an aluminum one, if that is even possible? Not, new to crossbows, just the Excalibur forums.

BTW, my user name is what I use in the Custom Computer Case modding world. It just so happened to fit well with my new Crossbow. lol

I have only had mine for 7 months, and less than 500 shots on it. The synthetic rail looks brand new still; I think it will last many years.

The only "upgrade" i have made is adding a Wyvern Creationz top mount quiver that moves the quiver on top of the bow and parallel to the scope. The stock quiver location under the bow drove me nuts, but many don't seem to mind it since they remove the quiver while hunting. I may upgrade to a nice leupold/redfield brand scope when funds allow, but the factory scope has performed well. There are other excalibur accessories that can be added, but I have not needed any of them yet.

You should be very happy with the bow....I took 2 deer with mine and am sold on it.

The only thing they maybe susceptible to, would be chipping, but even the aluminum rail would damage if was exposed to the same misuse. I highly doubt it will break under any normal conditions, so I would say use it rather then replace it. It has been the norm to hear any bad about their performance or durability, so anything you can add will also be helpful.

it's a very good bow. i know mine has well over 1000 shots on it, and still shoots and looks like new. have fun shooting.
