Leupold VX-1 heavy duplex shotgun/muzzleloader scope

Post by PA_DeerHunter »

I hear a lot of good reviews on this scope, but the parallax is set at 75 yards. I think I might be interested in the scope if it was parallax adjusted at 30 yards. What is clarity like at 20 yards, and how much crosshair movement occurs on a target at 20 yards?

I wish they made an adjustable objective for crossbows.

I would suggest that you also look at the Nikon BoltXr which is 3 oz. lighter than the Leupold VX-1 at 13 oz. I have one on my Equinox and it is bright, accurate & has a 3" to 4" eye relief.

I think if you call Leupold they can build you one with a different paralex. I have read on another site where this was done.

With the VX1 SG/ML you will have no problem with parallax at 20 yards, 3-4 yards maybe. I say maybe because I recently topped my M380 with a Redfield 2-7 Revolution (11 oz and also manufactured by Leupold) and its 150 yard parallax started to get fuzzy a bit below 3-4 yards. No big deal to me. 5 yards or more parallax became a non issue on my setup.
Hope that helps.

Leupold's 2-7x33mm in VX-1 shotgun/muzzleloader scope or Crossbones scope both only weigh 9.9 ounces. Its eye relief is 3.7 - 4.2 inches.

I have a Leupold 2-7x33mm VX-I scope mounted on my 2012 Equinox with low rings which is important. The 75 yard parallax is crystal clear at 10 yards and beyond.

Also Leupold's are made in the U.S.A. and have a full lifetime warranty no questions asked even if bought used.

Thank you everyone. I will take a look at this scope. I have just found in the past that when a scope is parallax adjusted at 100 yards, the crosshairs can move quite a bit with respect to the target if your eye alignment shifts. So much so, that point of aim can vary by as much as an inch if you align your eye differently with each respective shot. I like my crosshairs to remain fixed on the target, no matter where my eye happens to be looking through the scope.

You can defeat the affects of parallax by mounting the stock to your cheek [cheek weld] the same every time.

It takes a major effort to induce reticle wander w/ a 75 yd parallax free scope, which I have. I've shot my best groups ever w/ it, about 5 in an inch at 50 yds..........
