What a Thank you

Post by kd8jgu »

Today before heading back to Ohio to pack up.
Went to hunting area to hang cameras.
Owner walked up and asked if I was coming back.
When I asured him I would be back in two weeks he stated
"I wanted to make sure this little one will be taken care of"
I turn to look as he was handing me a 2 week old calf.
I never needed a thank you for all the fun I was having

Baby calves are cool. He's an early one right now. I've messed with my fair share of them.

So do you get to keep him or do you just raise him for the landowner? Either way you win! Like I said, baby calves are cool.

Only down side to that is that a bottle fed calf is just like a big dog. My family would never eat steaks and hamburger from a cow that we bottle fed. :)

Very nice of the farmer to gift you a calf. He obviously appreciates your efforts. Awesome! :)

That were nice of the Rancher. Calf would be safe wid me as fer maken it steaks n such. I seldom ever eat the stuff, jus don't care fer it much. Prefer deer & wild hogs fish turkeys barn yard birds. So y'all be over run wid dem hogs ? Heck put together a hunt this Fall. I might be able to talk awshucks into riden down there wid me fer a hunt. If'en you get one set-up, lots of work fer sure :)
