Turkey season cut short

Post by Close Up »

My turkey season was cut short this year do to the fact that my daughter was expecting our first grandchild mid May. Because of this I only bought one tag and filled it during the first full week of turkey season. This ended up being a good thing cause on Friday May 10th we got a phone call letting us know that they were going to the hospital cause things had started to happen the night before and the hospital told them to come on in! So after work Friday night we hopped in the truck and raced to beat our grandchild there!
We arrived in time for a short visit and then we were booted out the door so they could induce her!
We headed for their house and waited for the phone call. Had a rough night sleep as my wife's phone kept going off as everyone was messaging to see what was going on. Of course the only message we wanted to receive was from our daughter and her husband!
This all came to an end on Saturday morning at 7:30 when we got a phone call and I woke up to a Grandma flying out of the bed ready to go meet her grand baby!

Congratulations!! Treasure every moment. Now you can do things with him you were afraid to do with your own. It's funny that grandkids always get by with things our kids would have gotten in trouble for. Wonderful little gift from God Enjoy!!!

Definitely a keeper. Now you have someone to hunt turkey WITH...and help haul out your deer.
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.
Incurable tinkerer.
Why hunt? Simple, it's BASIC. Why breath?!
