355 or 380
Ok folks thinking about buying one. Anyone own or shot both? Looking for opinions of one versus the other. I understand the speed deal.

Re: 355 or 380
i have a 380 i have not shot the 355 but this bow is all a person can ask for out of a recurve.with a hunting set up of a 420gr arrow you be looking at about speed of 350 give or take very acurate i only do 40yds max i just hunt
Re: 355 or 380
I look at it as. I have a Y25 that shoots around 320 a Turbo that's at 312 and really do not want to shoot the Y25 and I still want a recurve so now I want one that's fast enough to justify buying, so that's were the Matrix 380 falls in place. See I just talked myself into it.

Re: 355 or 380
I have the 355 & it is a sweet bow. I chose the 355 because I am a bit short myself & find it just fit me better than the 380 & is a bit easier to cock. The price was not really a factor because by the time I bought the string stops & cheekpiece the price is basically the same as a 380. The 380 is a better looking bow in my opinion with the all camo rail.

Re: 355 or 380
I was originally going to buy the 355, but I wanted the string stops and cheekpiece, so I was close to the same price as the 380. The other factor is I really liked the black that was only available in the 380.bellerivercrossbowhunter wrote:I have the 355 & it is a sweet bow. X2 but I don't like the camo rail of the 380. The 355 felt like it belonged in my arm the 380 not as much. I'm on the short side myself and after cocking both the 355 won. If you plan on doing extended shooting the 355 is a bit easier and fun to cock.Go shoulder both and cock them both. I have never looked back.bellerivercrossbowhunter wrote:I have the 355 & it is a sweet bow. Re: 355 or 380
If money is not the problem go big or stay home. Both are sweet bows.

Re: 355 or 380
Apples to apples the 380 is cheaper, if you sold off the added parts you would be at the same price. The additional accessories on the 380 are ones you would probably buy down the road for a 355 anyway.
There a ton of sales sitting in limbo if they ever choose to sell a bare Matrix. I think it is a well equipped unit out of the box, but there are other accessories that can take it to a higher level IMO. We all want items like this personalize, whether its for looks or function, I'm surprised they haven't been offered as a bare model to dress up to your own liking.
That's just my $0.02 FWIW

Re: 355 or 380
I like my 355 but I got the 355 instead of the 380 mainly because I am not loaded with money and the 355 was a lot of money to me. The 380 was a lot more money to me. If money is not an issue, I would have gotten the solid black 380. Just my opinion. Both are great bows and both will compete with any bow on the range and both will kill any thing you can hunt on earth.

Re: 355 or 380
I disagree that the 380 is cheaper. By any calculation I can do the 380 is $300 more money. Why would I even want to add all that extra stuff to my 355? I don't see that it helps me at all. I will agree with you on one thing and that is if you were going to add all those items to the 355 then why not go ahead and buy the 380.taz3 wrote:Apples to apples the 380 is cheaper, if you sold off the added parts you would be at the same price. I have not shot one but these bows are really loud with the 355 being less. Your thoughts please? Wyvern has these at a pretty good price.

Re: 355 or 380
I went with the 355 because its shorter and the width is 6" less. It's easier to cock too!
By the way Wyverncreations is charging $779 for the 355pkg and $949 for the 380pkg.I guess i need a hearing aid as i can't hear well on the phone.
I paid $49.95 for the REDS suppressor and
$39 for 6 Black eagle arrows w brass inserts so i can shoot 100gr spitfires.
