I need a string Re-served

Post by sbox »

Who should I send my Excalibur Exocet Crossbow sting to, to get it reserved?

The string (factory) is in great shape but the serving has separated where the string claws hold it.

can buy everything you need except the knowledge.

I agree it does not look real difficult but does take patience and practice. I guess I did not give enough of either and finally just got to frustrated and gave up

First things first.
You may be putting the cart before the horse.
The question you should be asking is. Depending on the number shots before seperation occurred.
How can you reduce the wear on your string serving caused by the claws?
Because if there is problem with the claws damaging the serving then you can reserve it but that does not solve the problem.

Otherwise you have to balance the cost of a new one against the total cost and time to have the old one reserved. Shipping costs / serving cost / time verses ($35.00 new)

Serving separation isn't caused by rough latches, it's from the serving not being applied tight enough and/or failing to snub up the tag ends .

If you are close or will to send it to me I will reserve and return it to you
Have done this for a few members :D

I use a basic crossbow serving by brownells and I have had great success with it

But polishing the claws will help with wear but not separation.

Another thing to consider is over draw while cocking the bow have seen this many times the edge of the trigger unit can be sharp
