That shot was nice, but the guy who never shot a crossbow beat us both.

It,s cool but expensive an I sure hate to lose a great shooting arrow that,s almost like a family member with a number an name an all the time I spend with it on the range. I almost cry when I ruin a good one :( I like that chicken string in your avatar pretty cool looking !

xcaliber wrote:Funny, we had been missing the dime sized dot all morning, and this Park Ranger takes his first shot ever with a crossbow, skips the bolt off the ground about ten yards in front of the target, and bullseye! In the dime sized dot! Hilarious! Just like that comercial with Wadell, and Loskoski, only real.
Reckon he was anticipating the trigger just a LITTLE ??? That would be embarrassing in front of other folks!

My son in law did it on the second shot EVER out of a crossbow. Went on to say they should be outlawed. I suggested he try again but he decided he couldn't top that. As the old saying goes: 'Even a blind squirrel will find an acorn now and then.' I figure $14 a pop isn't novel any longer. Even near misses can be costly; overlooked cracked nock from a previous hit - cause one of my bows to 'spontaneously disassemble.'
