This year I bought a matrix 355. I switched the tact-zone scope out for a bolt XR. The optics are super clear but I am not a huge fan of the yardage circles.
May I ask what didn't you like about Excalibur's Tact-Zone scope?

So does this have a speed dial? where is each range on the reticle?

The Redfield Revenge 2-7x34mm crossbow scope with Accu-Ranger Crossbow Reticle looks like this below. I don't believe it has a speed ring, but before you can take a shot using the yardage marks you need to adjust the power ring to bracket the deer.

i know there are not a lot of shadowzone fans, but i really like mine, it is plenty clear enough for hunting even in low light especially with the lighted retical. you can easily extend into non legal, after dusk hrs, that is pretty good. the cheverons are spot on at 10 yrds increments out 50yrds and it is excal sponsored; price is good on them also, used ones even better.
better an overkill than an underkill
vortex,vixenmaster string
2219s, abc steel sonics

xcaliber wrote:The magnification kinda works like a speed ring, the twenty yard reticle stays put through the magnification adjustments, but the 30, 40, 50, and 60 yard reticles spread open on lower settings, and get closer on higher magnifications, same as the speed adjustment does. In order to utilize the highest magnification, you need a faster bow. This took me a little while to realize as i was sighting it in.
Right makes sense. Redfield's power ring markings just replace the speed ring markings found on most crossbow scopes.

Can't you just adjust the power ring to your setup, so you don't spook game trying to bracket live deer for proper range?

Oh OK Dan, that's better than I thought. If you know the range just pick the yardage marking and shoot. If you are unsure of the range bracket the deer to find the yardage then turn back to shoot, sweet!

That's an awesome scope tougher than nails and would be perfect for the Matrix 380. I suggest Leupold rifleman detachable low rings, lightweight and strong.

Hey Excal1, are you using the Tact Zone on your 380? Also, are you using the stock string? Mine arrived Friday and I have it put together except mounting the scope.

I am using a Hawke XB30. The Tact zone is on my wife's Vixen. I did not have any problems with the Tact Zone, but the wife liked it so she got it.
I am currently using a flemish string made by Dan (xcaliber)
