crossbow case
I bought an Axiom crossbow and I am looking to purchase a case for it, I would like to buy a hard case like the Plano style but read that with the string off in storage mode that the crossbow would not fit the case. So my question is will the bow fit the Excalibur soft case with the limbs relaxed in storage mode?

You won't have to take the string off your bow on the Plano Manta crossbow case. I had one but went back to a soft case didn't like all the bulk of the Manta made by planotreestandman wrote:I bought an Axiom crossbow and I am looking to purchase a case for it, I would like to buy a hard case like the Plano style but read that with the string off in storage mode that the crossbow would not fit the case. Re: crossbow case
thanks Daveshooter, but that did not answer my question, what Im asking is if when you have released the string when storing the bow for the summer, will it still fit in the Excalibur soft case?
Re: crossbow case
Treestandman....I'm pretty sure you'd need to leave the string on with the soft sider too. I'm one of those that don't remove the string when the cb isn't in use. Have had several cb's over the years and never saw a need for it. When I'm going to use a cb again, I just take it down, check it over, maybe have to give the string a twist or 2 and I'm back in business. Usually never have to touch the scope. My POI is usually right on the money. I know several folks on the forum have checked their speed too and that hasn't changed any either. Now to get back on track....have seen the hard case and it's pretty good sized, but does a good job of protecting your cb. Soft sider is good for hauling it around, but doesn't do as good of job protecting it from bumps and bangs. My 2 cents!

I have an Equinox in the padded soft case, I also leave my string on year round. I checked my case and I have approx. 2.5 inches clearance to one side, so measure your width strung and unstrung and you will know if it fits. Hope this helps

Re: crossbow case
I ended up buying the Excalibur soft case, it has lots of room but the padding was not as thick as I would have liked, so I had some old foam that I cut to fit the inside of the case and beefed it up, works just fine.
