What to look for (or avoid) in a used Excalibur?

Post by learn2flyfish »

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and help thus far.

I've found a few that I'm interested in. Most are used. Is there anything to be avoided, should I be wary of used bows on eBay, etc?

Thanks,

Paul

Know the specs of the models you are after so that you will know what you are buying.
People cutting this and chopping that may mean you won't get what you thought you were buying.
Read the listings very carefully.
Won't have much problem here but on ebay and kijiji beware.
Ask a lot of questions and talk by phone. If there is no phone for contact then really beware!!

I wouldn't be afraid of buying any Excalibur. But looking over mine that I currently own, not one of them is stock the way it came from factory. Switching rails and camo patterns around and triggers that shoot better than others in certain bows (Boo polished trigger & Triggertech). Spray foam in rail, Switching strait risers and forward risers, and list goes on. I would likely ask if it is 100% stock bow.

Would I expect warrenty if something happens to mine. NO I would explain the truth to Excalibur and go from there.
