355 Almost Ready...

Post by Drew »

I am all set for hunting season now! Thanks to Danny Miller and Xcalibur, I have some sweet flemish strings and baby buggy bumpers. These two guys are class acts for sure. Very helpful, knowledgeable and a pleasure to do business with.

I have a few chrony readings on Xcaliubrs flemish string (BCY Force 10) and it is hitting HARD, and it looks sweet too. With a 20" Zombie @ 446gr , I'm hitting 321fps for 102fpe. A 17.5" Zombie @ 422gr, 326fps for 100fpe. These numbers are off a beta master chrony at 2' in front of bow. I'm all dialed in with fp's now I just have to shoot the slick trick 125 mags and I'll be set.

Are these velocities in line with what others are seeing out of the 355?

I think I may need a few more strings...camo...hmmm!

For some reason I cannot add any pics...it says

Nice sounding set-up! I added the reds, but that's about it. I know I shouldn't judge my fps by the scope setting, but my scope reads 330fps with the stock diablos and 150gr tips. I'm going to put it through a chrono sometime. Right now it's fast enough and accurate enough to where I don't care. Best of luck to you this year!

Heading out afterwork to get the slick trick mags sighted in. I'm hoping they fly as well as everyone says. Same poi as fp's would be great.

I'm happy to report that the 355 really likes 20" Zombies, lumenoks, 110gr brass front inserts, and 125gr Slick Trick mags. POI same as field points. It's a decently heavy arrow, 467gr, and I believe the FOC is 18-20% . Flies like a dart and it looks like I'm getting somewhere around 103fpe. So I couldn't be happier with my new hunting tool.
As to why I'm shooting 20"er's...I had originally planned on getting the Nox. That changed with that 30% coupon for Dunhams. The 20's are flying well so I don't see a reason to change until I need to buy more arrows. Or Christmas...whicever comes first!
