Re: Rage Broadheads
I have shot a few deer and bear with the rage. they work great.... I had one xbow 125 grain blade break off, but I nicked shoulder, still a dead deer. I now use the gator heads from bass pro, similar results and perfect flight. No bands or collars. I have used the standard 2 blade rage and the xbow rage, both worked fine (axiom) as is, no problem with accuracy or opening.

Re: Rage Broadheads
A few seasons back I had two premature openings using Rage 3 blade. As others have said, anything that tends to open that easy just bumping around in the stand is suspect and always worried me, therefore I checked to make sure they were seated properly before each shot. Still, when I hit my release and it sounded like a small helicopter flying to the target, I knew what was going on!
The first time was on a nice buck at 19 yards. The malfunction caused the arrow to hit 1' back and maybe 10" high!!! Shot that buck through the upper gut just under the spine. He ran off like a scalded cat and went out of earshot and I couldn't find him until the next day as there was no blood at all. The night had been in the high 60's and most of the meat was already smelling bad!
The second was at a doe on the ground at about 29 yards and caused the arrow to go left and down smacking a tree to the left of the deer. That was it for me and Rage, period, as all I was feeling by then was RAGE!!!
I should have canned them after the first fiasco but the cost of chucking them overcame my better judgement and logic, so I gave them a second chance. Never again!
I bought Swhacker 125's for my Diablo Bolts and 380. Many good tests and reviews online and I have yet to see one that was bad, although I have read a few reports of no pass through/little blood trail and so forth. Then again some of that has to be shot placement and low KE rig. I DOUBT that will be an issue with the 380!!!!!!

Re: Rage Broadheads
Thanks for the vote of confidence brother!
I can't wait either. I have a very nice buck on video using an area maybe 80 yards from a major hi way, and he's not the only one there. I was scouting on the other side of the same road two days ago and on the way out found a 5" cedar that was torn up!!! This was also close to the road, maybe 60 yards away and a third of a mile or so away from the first area. I'm getting pumped!!!
Sorry to get off topic, didn't intend to hijack.

Re: Rage Broadheads
I was hunting this afternoon with a friend of mine and he just bought the Rage Extremes I think he said they have a 2.3 inch cutting diameter. He shot a doe at 17 yards with its head down facing him right in the spine while he was 22 feet in the tree the deer looked like you hit it with a hatchet. Both blades on the broadheads were bent but the deer hit the ground right there and she was done. It looked like it had a 4 inch gapping hole in the top of her back where the broadhead severed her spine and poked through the botton of her chest. He was pretty happy with the Extremes.

I've taken a few deer and one bear with Rage broad heads and I've been very impressed with the deadly results.
You do have to check them when you remove them from the quiver to be sure the blades are still set but I don't mind that. The new models including the Xbows retain the blades better.

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.
