Congratulations on your deer!
That model 12 was made to hunt with, and your pa would be happy to see it still does the job.

Congrats on getting one with the old smooth bore. It is always nice to see an old gun in action. They can do a lot more than collect dust.

I bet that model 12 is as prechious as any thing you own to you a great gun made better by the memorys. Congrats on the doe also cool way to harvest her.

congratulations on #5. I love the model 12. mine has killed many a ducks & turkey since it was handed down to me. It loves to eat clays as well! not to bad for a gun made in the 1940's.

Nice kill with a gun filled with memories. I have an old 30.06 my deceased mother gave me. I shoot it some but haven't hunted with it in a long time. Think I'll set it up for my son and hand it down :)

I bet he'd like that. I have 1940-something H&R bolt action .22 'Sportster' that was my grandfather's. It was passed down to my Dad, and then to me 30-plus years ago. He said it put food on the table many a day back during hard times. It's one of my most cherished possessions.
