Have been told that you need not a firearms license but a wehpon license
for a crossbow !!!???

I have the firearms for the sluggun that I have restored 1946.

what is the wehpons license

Garry, check out Crossbow Australia http://www.crossbowaustralia.org.au/. It is the main crossbow web site in Australia.

You might want to check out Ausbow Industries http://www.ausbow.com.au/ as well. It is based in Goolwa SA and the owner is also the CEO of Crossbow Australia. He is very helpfull and would be only too willing to give you the lowdown on the current crossbow laws in SA.
