Wow! That's one good snake indeed John....cause it's dead! Funny, I can chase bears with a bow and hunt in grizzly country no problem. But snakes....problem.

It's illegal to kill any snake in Ar. I fire 38 spl bird shot for warnings.

I'd of warned that one twice.

I hear you on the warning shots!
BTW, the timber rattler is not listed either federally or in my state as endangered, it was perfectly legal.

That's alot of rattler! Good shooting. Snakes don,t bug me as much as spiders,l.o.l. but rattlers where folks travel are going to get in trouble.

Timber rattlers get a little more than half a big as that one here, but the damn copperheads get as big as your snake and they don't tell you your going to get bit. :x :x

Illegal to kill any snake in MO ... Though I can't say that I wouldn't fire a warning shot and accidentally miss! ;)

I have never seen a rattle snake here in CT but we do have some timber rattlers. I do run into Copperheads from time to time.
We had all kind of eastern diamondback around Moodus Ct.. especially around the old stone property lines...

We've got our share of copperheads too, but I don't think they get that big around here. They have the ultimate camouflage, just about invisible among the leaves, you can look right at one and not see it.
