Break from loading manual Matrix 380

Post by La Balestra Moderna »

Hello guys
yesterday while testing the new butt, while loading the crossbow I was presented this problem:

I think it's a manufacturing problem, I noticed a structural defect within the resin / plastic that is, you notice that you have created an air bubble, albeit very small but capable of breaking the hook that holds the rope.

Luckily the crossbow has Anti Dry Fire otherwise unloaded all the tension (no sting) on the poor limbs.

According to you from loading an object is subject to warranty?

Since powers of traction in the game are not read (260 lbs) you also do not feel that it would be better that these hooks are made of metal?

As it is gone, it is gone well .....

If you contact Excalibur with reference to this photo on the forum that you posted I expect that they will forward a new one to you.
Excalibur does not manufacture these rope hooks in house and cannot control quality, I have heard of a few breaking in the past but not many.

that rope cocker doesnt look like an Excalibur. that one seems to have a rivet holding in the center wheel instead of a steel pin. also the color of the composite material on your hooks look black mixed with grey dots. my Excalibur hooks are solid black. unless Excalibur changed design it looks like a knock off or import crossbow or Barnett rope cocker.

I would contact the dealer that sold you the faulty rope cocker & have him/her/they replace it!

I concur.
Talk to your dealer. A cheap substitute could get you hurt, or damage your bow when it breaks. Glad that didn't happen!

The rope on that cocking aid looks pretty lightweight compared to my Excal original also.

Have to agree looks like a knock off . I purchased one ( knock off ) from a dealer ( not Excal ) set up at a 3 d shoot a few years back . Had forgot my rope cocker at home . It failed just before the string caught the latch on my Y25 . Punched myself in the face  ..

Would not want this happening with any crossbow , least of all a 380 or worse yet a 405 :?

It is true, the situation was very dangerous, first for myself, then for my crossbow.
If you were to break something from me here in Italy is difficult to get spare parts.
I wrote a lot of e-mail to the Excalibur and its dealers across Europe, to have pairs of limbs of the Matrix 380 Xtra and Blackout, without ever having had answers.
For this broken from loading I contacted my dealer, for the moment I am waiting for to have a positive match.

I will update as soon as there is news ....
