Hawke XB30 Pro vs Excalibur Twilight DLX

Post by canoetrpr »

I've been thinking of getting the Hawke XB30 Pro due to a mishap with my Tact-Zone on my Matrix 380.

To my surprise when I contacted Excalibur they offered me a replacement Twilight DLX (per my request) at an excellent discount - $175 CDN. That's over a hundred bucks under MSRP here!

The HB30 Pro would be about $250 CDN + shipping and I suspect shipping will be more than what Excalibur would charge.

What do you guys think? Is one clearly better than the other?

For $75 price is probably not the issue as I will only get a new scope on this bow once, but it is tempting.

This is a GREAT company!

I had the Twilight DLX on my Equinox. Worked great until I sat through my first rain shower. Moisture got inside and fogged up the glass. Excalibur replaced it at no charge. However, needing a scope immediately, I purchased the Hawke XB30 and it is still on the beast today. Very good scope so far. When the new Twilight came, I sold it on the forum trading post.

What was the mishap with your Tact-Zone scope? The reason I ask is the MSRP difference between the Tact-Zone and Twilight DLX is only $80.

Bow fell form storage on the scope. Scope bent from fall.

Still functional but I didn't want to take a risk in case something internal dies during the season.
